Gender Discrimination & The Law
After this year of incredible scrutiny of the entertainment industry, this panel will review advances toward employment equality in Hollywood through litigation, legislation, and other strategies. Topics will include the status of the EEOC’s investigation of the studios, restructuring efforts underway in the TimesUp initiative, the new “Inclusion Rider,” the significance of “employee” versus “independent contractor” status, and the ways various stakeholders— including studios, networks, agencies, and unions, among others— control and influence employment.
